Dr. McCarthy completed his residency of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University. He went on to complete a fellowship at the anesthesia pain medicine program at Case Western /University Hospitals of Cleveland.  His training included the use of nerve blocks, epidurals, and radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulators among many other procedures as well as medications.  Dr McCarthy has the distinct advantage of being trained in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and an anesthesia-based pain fellowship to develop a more diverse approach to pain management
